R.I.P. Bluejean Hughes

Brother, my brother. We just spoke. I can't get my head around this. But I know you're in a better place, Heaven just took on a mean bass player and a good man. Remember the time in 1985 when I bought the VCR off the guy in the Bowery who walked up to the car tryna sell it to us before VCRs were popular, you said don't do it man. I said, VCRs are the future, when we got to my place and opened the box, there was nothing in there but a brick. I had been scammed. You laughed so hard for so long that you turned dark purple as if that was possible, but you did. We laughed about how well the homeless guy managed to package the Brick so well LOL, The times we had together with the band in the 80s and 90s, the countless studio sessions, the gigs, the writing and producing at that little hole in the wall up in the Bronx. Carrying basses and guitars everywhere we went, living on two egg rolls a day, all about the music man. Dreaming, funking, producing, living, surviving. No homo Blue, I love you man and I'm gonna miss you. I know you're looking down at me smiling and saying Jeff, I made it. I finally made it. Rest in Peace Gene "Bluejean" Hughes.
